Social Security Clinic

Subject called Social Security Clinic is an optional one semester long course taking place in winter and summer semester of an academic year which focuses on practical legal help to clients in the area of Social Security Law. This area of law is very diverse and changeable. Legal regulation is subject to frequent amendments and ordinary citizens often have problems to orientate in their rights and duties connected to hard social incidents occurring to them or their families.

Students have a chance to get to know this area of law through practical cases and their resolving and to get ready to provide legal aid in this area. Furthermore, they have an opportunity to inform wide public and mainly the socially weak on options of social protection in particular hard situations.

Within the framework of this clinic, collaboration was initiated with the Regional Court of Ostrava, branch of Olomouc, where under the supervision of an administrative law judge, students have a chance to study files concerning court review of administrative decisions in the matters of social security and to get acquainted with the practice of administrative judiciary.

Students in winter and summer semesters of 2011/2012 apply through Stag.
